A Village Church
for Everyone

Church News.

Various events are planned for 2011 and will be advertised on the church notice board, in the Parish News, and the church website. Everyone is welcome and new faces are always an encouragement that we are reaching out to others in Shillington and the surrounding villages.

Our last major event last year was the Annual Christmas Tree Festive Display, that was held on 3rd, 4th & 5th December. The event was a huge success and a grand total of £910 was raised for Sight Concern Bedfordshire, a registered charity that cares for Blind and Partially Sighted People in Bedfordshire. A Cheque for this amount was passed to Sight Concern at Morning Service on 12th December.

As a fellowship we are always trying new ideas and 2011 will see us trying new things. At present we are considering opening our church at times during the week for people to come in for a time of quiet reflection. If you feel this may appeal to you, we would like to hear from you-contact us via the church letterbox.

As a church we offer various services that you may not be aware of. These include "Marriage  Blessings".

Your Church Donations

Anyone who is paying Income Tax and is not presently making contributions to the Church under the 'Covenant" system may wish to consider doing so.  In most case the Church could benefit from an extra 28 pence from HM Revenue & Customs for each pound contributed by the donor.  Anyone wishing to have more details should telephone our treasurer, Yvonne McCormick, on 01582 655135

Postage Stamps

We would like to thank all those who have given the church "used postage stamps."
We have recently passed on a large black sack full of these stamps; we are still collecting so keep snipping them off your post.
